Ever evolving

Just wanted to let you know the obvious...I've changed the look of my blog, again.  I'm getting closer to displaying who I am. But I'm not quite there yet.  Personally, it's hard for me to read white letters on a black background because the text seems to swim on the screen.  This change is pretty dark.  Let me know what you think. I'm still looking for my a-ha visual. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

  1. Personally, I like the dark look. White letters on gray works for me. I also like the background image, though if you want complete honesty (queue evil music), I'm not a fan of having the image repeated, I think it's called "tiled."

Don't hit me. *Tony cowers in the corner.* ;-)

Overall though, i really like the direction your going with it.

  2. Thanks Tony! Yeah, I got a graphic designer--my brother in law--working on something that is more me: Dragons meets demon angels plunged into Star Wars. I can't wait what he comes up with. LOL. Thanks I'll try to figure something out.

    Thanks Jessica!

  3. You're going to lose a lot of readers with the white on gray font. The contrast is different on different devices and platforms and can be totally unreadable on a lot. Also it's very hard on over-35 eyes. Pretty much 100% of blog gurus advise against it. Check out Elizabeth Craig and Kristin Lamb on the subject.

On the other hand, if you want to narrow your readership to emo tweens, this might be more appealing to them.

If you want that emo look and still want to keep readership, you might be able to use a lighter gray background for the text box and still have a black font, and you could still keep that doom and gloom look.

  4. Good Point Anne. Thanks! I'll check out those blogs. No, I don't want to lose any of those readers.

  5. I fall into that category too! LOL

  6. I don't have a problem with the white letters at all~ looks great! And I love the moon :)

  7. Hi,

I like the dark look background but a little more dark between images would set them further apart, and tiling would blend.

Grey and white is O.K., and deep purple "bold" would add impact on grey. ;)

  8. I'm always changing my blog look, which is kinda funny since I don't really like change.

  9. The white is kinda stark, but it wasn't hard going since the post wasn't long.

  10. Thanks everyone. I'll try to come up with something.

  11. Well this one is quite good!!

ain't it so?? I love it now!!

    with warm regards

  12. "Dragons meets demon angels plunged into Star Wars."

    That sounds *awesome!* :-)
